What Switchback Bindery does

  1. Write a trip report

    Draft the story of your adventure. You can write it by hand, upload the messy cursive, we'll figure it out and convert it to text. If you want, you can submit for feedback to a non-human reviewer.

  2. Take lots of photos

    Drop them in from your phone, Google Photos, or your edited selects.

  3. Rate and curate

    Lay your prints out on the table, rate them, group the near-duplicates and put the keepers in order. You can choose to add tagging, grouping, and cropping metadata with help from computers.

  4. Auto-layout a first draft

    One click arranges your best photos and your story across spreads. Reshuffle until it feels right, then adjust anything by hand.

  5. Printing makes it real

    Don't leave your memories as bits on a hard drive. Print them out, make them real. (You can keep a PDF as backup)
